Dallas SWE participated in the Vickery Meadow Youth Development Foundation College Festival in October! Launched this year, the festival invites High school students to the Success Center to learn about college, interact with local college representatives, learn tips for applying, and shows them how different college majors lead to real careers. Dallas SWE led two activities that showed how majoring in biomedical engineering and biology can lead to careers in the engineering and health profession fields. Students viewed a heart valve demo, played operation, and viewed specimens under a microscope to explore surgical, research, product engineer, and cardiac research careers. Dallas SWE’s partnership with VMYDF was established in 2023.
